The Winter Season brings with it a number of delightful diversions. Here are few two special events to consider.

Winter Fair

The Alameda County Fairgrounds is hosting a Winter Fair now through Saturday, January 2, 1999. Winter Fair is a spectacular 2.5 mile drive through a series of fifty amazing displays in an array of holiday themes with over two million lights!

Times:

Sunday through Thursday, 6 pm to 10 pm Friday and Saturday, 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm

Cost:

$10 per vehicle with advance ticket purchase $12 per vehicle at the gate

Advance Tickets:

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Alameda County Fairgrounds Office (4501 Pleasanton Avenue), Lions Ticket Office (10 West Neal Street), Hopyard Ale House (Hopyard Road and Valley Avenue), Fremont Bank (all Pleasanton branches), Bank of Walnut Creek (Main Street branch), Uncle Credit Union (Santa Rita Road north of Valley Avenue) and the Pleasanton Club Sport. Tickets may also be purchased in advance on the Alameda County Fairgrounds web site, www.alcofairgrounds.com.

Olson Fund Elegant Dinner

The Lions Ticket Office & Visitors Center in cooperation with the Pleasanton Lions and Amador Valley Lions clubs have teamed up to sponsor an Elegant Dinner to honor the late Jim Olson and to support the Olson Family Fund. All proceeds will go directly to the Olson Family Fund.

Nick Kaplanis, owner of the New Rochelle restaurant has graciously offered to provide dinner and service for two hundred forty diners. Seagrams Chateau & Wine Estates will provide the wine and champagne. A number of well known sports personalities from the 49ers, Oakland A's, Warriors and The Clash will appear and their organizations will provide memorabilia for a silent auction. Other individuals and organizations will also be providing goods and services.

Monday, December 14th (seatings at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm)

Suggested Donation: $50.00
