HELP NEEDED FOR HACIENDA FOOD DRIVE

Each year the Hacienda Owners Association supports the Alameda County Community Food Bank in their effort to develop resources for programs conducted throughout the year. Your donations go a long way towards helping the Food Bank meet their mission in Alameda County. Locally, a number of Tri-Valley operations are recipients of food and money collected by the Food Bank.

Food for Thought

Red decorative barrels are located throughout Hacienda to serve as food collection points. The Food Bank would particularly like to encourage contributions of the following:

  • Canned meats

  • Canned fruits and vegetables

  • Pasta and sauces

  • Fruit juices

  • Soups and stews

  • Peanut butter

  • Beans and rice

Business Park Competition

To help the collection effort, the Hacienda Owners Association would like to challenge Hacienda businesses and the local community through participation in a friendly competition. Hacienda is currently in a collection competition with Bishop Ranch Business Park, Harbor Bay Isle Business Park and Marina Village Business Park. Last year's competition aided the Food Bank in bringing in over 405,000 pounds of food and $63,000 dollars during their holiday collection effort. This year's goal is to collect over 420,000 pounds of food and at least $80,000. We would like to show all of Alameda County what Hacienda can accomplish by continuing our two-year first-place record into a third year.

On-Site Collection Available

Hacienda businesses interested in obtaining their own collection barrel for an on-site drive can contact the Food Bank using the contact information found below. Hacienda businesses may also contact the Hacienda Owners Association for a donation pick-up provided the donation can be received within the park.
