There are many different events happening throughout Pleasanton and the Tri-Valley this holiday season. Below is a sample of what you can find and where to find it.

Holiday Happenings

Whether it's music, dance, song or a festive social occasion, you will not have to look far for an opportunity to celebrate. Additional event information can be found by following this link to Hacienda's event calendar.

December 1

The Pleasanton Hometown Holiday Celebration 2001, "Spirit of the Season," includes a Main Street merchants open house from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. A holiday parade will begin at 5:30 pm and the tree lighting ceremony will be held at 6:45 pm at the Valley Museum located at 603 Main Street. Other festivities include carol singing, choirs and a visit from Santa. For more information, call (925) 484-2199.

The Livermore-Amador Symphony presents "A Farewell to 2001" with Christmas music, Mozart, music from movies in 2001 and more. The performance begins at 8:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Livermore. For more information, call (925) 447-3672.

December 7

The Pleasanton Downtown Association hosts A Victorian Holiday Evening from 5:00-9:00 pm in downtown Pleasanton. Enjoy shopping, music and food. For more information, call (925) 484-2199.

"The Nutcracker", with an Art Deco twist, is being presented by the State Street Ballet Company and the City of Pleasanton Civic Arts at 8:00 pm at the Amador Theater in Pleasanton. The Amador Theater is located at 1155 Santa Rita Road. For tickets or more information, please call (925) 931-5340. Other performances will be shown on December 8th at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm and on December 9th at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.

December 8

The Valley Choral Society presents music for the season at 8:00 pm at the Pleasanton Presbyterian Church located at 4300 Mirador Drive. For tickets or more information, please call (925) 866-4003.

December 9

The Pleasanton Community Concert Band along with special guests the 91st Division Band, U.S. Army Reserve will be giving a free concert of holiday tunes and patriotic favorites at 7:30 pm at the Amador Theater. Immediately following the performance, the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council will host a reception in the lobby including cider, cookies, caroling, and a fine arts show. The Amador Theater is located at 1155 Santa Rita Road in Pleasanton.

December 12

The Chamber of Commerce Holiday Mixer is being held at Black Tie Transportation Service from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and the public is invited. Black Tie Transportation Service is located at 7148 Johnson Drive. For more information, please call (925) 846-5858.

December 13

The Pleasanton Senior Center is hosting a tour of holiday lights from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm. Meet at the senior Center located at 5353 Sunol Boulevard. Refreshments will be provided. Please call (925) 931-5365 to make a reservation.

December 14

The Pleasanton Playhouse presents The Broadway Chorus Family Showcase at 8:00 pm. The production centers around the many classic family musicals created by Walt Disney. The Broadway Chorus, Rendition, and Cosmopolitan Dancers will perform selections from Aida, Newsies, Tarzan, and many more Broadway and Hollywood favorites. December 15

The Puppet Co. presents "The Nutcracker" at the City of Pleasanton Public Library. This is a 30 minute performance suitable for all ages. Performances will be at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. No registration is required. For more information, please call (925) 931-3400.

December 16

The Valley Dance Theatre perform their annual full length version of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Performances take place at the Livermore High School Performing Arts Theatre located at 600 Maple Street in Livermore. To order tickets, please call (925) 243-0925 or (925) 443-6953. Other performances will be presented at 2:00 pm on December 23rd and 7:00 pm on December 27th.
