9th ANNUAL HOPFEST

The 9th Annual Hopfest, a Tri-Valley microbrew and food festival, benefiting The Volunteer Center of Alameda County will be held from 3:00 - 7:30 pm on Saturday, August 3, 2002 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Come enjoy the fun while supporting The Volunteer Center's programs. Major sponsors include the Tri-Valley Herald/ANG Newspapers and 101.7 KKIQ radio.

The Festivities

Hopfest will feature beer and ale from more than 35 microbreweries and gourmet food from 20 restaurants. Beer will be served until 7:00 pm and food until 7:30 pm. Breweries participating last year included: Alaskan Brewing Co., Anchor Brewing Co., Bear Republic Brewing Co., Black Diamond Brewing Co., Bridgeport, Butte Creek Brewing Co., Coast Range Brewing Co., Deschutes Brewery, El Toro Brewing Co., Faultline Brewing Co., Gambrinus, Golden Pacific Brewing Co., Hook & Ladder Brewing Co., Hoptown Brewing Co., Kelly Bros. Brewing Co., Lagunitas Brewing Co., Lost Coast Brewery, Marin Brewing Co., Moosehead, Moylan's Brewery, North Coast Brewing, Pleasanton Main St. Brewery, Pete's Wicked Ale, Pyramid Brewery, Russian River Brewing Co., Samuel Adams, Seabright Brewery, Shiner, Sierra Nevada and Snowshoe Brewing Co. Live dance music will be provided by Appleslap, emaneht and a Reggae band.

Tickets

Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. The ticket price includes a souvenir beer glass, music, 10 beer tastings and three food samplings. Parking will be available at the fairgrounds for $5 per car. A $10 Responsible Driver ticket for soft drinks and food is available for those drivers who do not plan to consume alcohol. The first 100 Responsible Drivers will receive a free t-shirt and glass. No children of any age will be permitted at the event, and all attendees must be 21 years old with a valid I.D.
