SPARE THE AIR AND RIDE BART FOR FREE

Enjoy a free commute and help spare the air. BART, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District have joined forces and formed a partnership that will offer free weekday morning commutes on BART for the first five Spare the Air days during this season's campaign.

Free BART Ride

BART will offer free morning commutes on the first five Spare the Air days occurring between June 21 and October 15, 2004. BART access will be free at all stations between the start of service and 9:00 am on the first five Spare the Air days announced. On these days, BART customers simply enter BART fare gates from the start of service to 9:00 am free; there is no BART ticket required. Standard fares and ticketing will resume after 9 am. For details on BART's free morning commute, visit www.bart.gov. To receive advance notice of Spare the Air days, simply register for Air Alerts at www.sparetheair.org.
