The Livermore/Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA), operator of WHEELS, is announcing a service change to the Route 70. WHEELS will be relocating a stop along the Walnut Creek Commuter Express line. The change will take effect October 4, 2004.

Route Modification

Hacienda employees and residents can travel on express buses along Interstate 680 at no charge. Whether you are bound to Hacienda for work or traveling from your home in Hacienda to work sites in Walnut Creek or Pleasant Hill, your ride is free on WHEELS Route 70. WHEELS will soon be making a minor route change to this service. Effective Monday, October 4, 2004, the bus stop for the Route 70 will relocate from its current location at Las Juntas and Coggins to a bus bay at the Pleasant Hill BART Station. This means transfers to and from other services are now easier than ever. The Route 70 will be sharing space with the Fairfield/Suisun Route 40.

Free WHEELS Pass

Hacienda employees and residents are eligible for free WHEELS passes. In order to qualify for a pass, you need to be either an employee within Hacienda or a resident within one of the following Hacienda residential communities: Archstone, Avila, Siena, Valencia, or Verona. Bus passes entitle the bearer to a free ride to and from work, or to and from home for residents, on all WHEELS lines. WHEELS buses connect the Tri-Valley area to locations throughout Hacienda. WHEELS buses also meet each incoming ACE and BART train during the peak commute hours to shuttle Hacienda employees to their businesses and residents to the respective stations. During off-peak commute hours, WHEELS DART service shuttles passengers to and from the BART station as well as other destinations in the WHEELS service area. WHEELS I-680 express bus service provides a direct link for people commuting between Hacienda and Pleasant Hill/Walnut Creek.
