On Saturday, June 25, 2005, the American Cancer Society will host the Relay for Life. Local events are being held at both Dublin High School and Livermore High School. Hacienda's H&R Block Mortgage has sponsored the Livermore event and will be participating with their friends and families. Join in this 24 hour celebration of hope and walk in the Relay for Life.

Relay for Life

Relay for Life is a fun-filled 24 hour relay that takes place nationwide to help raise awareness and fund research for cancer. It unites millions of people in thousands of communities nationwide each year to generate money to help prevent cancer, save lives, and diminish suffering from the disease. The Livermore event, www.acsevents.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=94689, will be held at Livermore High School located at 600 Maple Street. The Dublin event, www.acsevents.org/relay/ca/dublin, will be held at Dublin High School located at 8151 Village Parkway. The events begin at 9:00 am on June 25th and end with closing ceremonies at 9:00 am on June 26th. There will be live entertainment, food, games and activities for kids throughout the entire event.

Participation

The goal is to get teams of friends, businesses, service organizations and more to raise funds for cancer research by walking or running around the event track. At least one person from each team will be on the track during the 24 hour event. There are many ways to participate in the Relay for Life. You can volunteer your services, join an existing team, start a new team, sponsor a walker or make a donation online.
