THE ALAMEDA COUNTY HACKATHON IS COMING

Alameda County has launched a new Alameda County Data Sharing Initiative, which provides the public with easy online access to records and information about County business and operations. A Hackathon is being held on December 8th where community members can use their technology skills to improve their local government.

Got Code?

The Alameda County Apps Challenge 2012 (aka Hackathon) encourages residents to harness the power of technology and open government to create web and mobile applications that benefit the community. The event is a way to showcase your own ideas or collaborate with others in your community to see how quickly you can design and create a software app or concept that addresses a community need in Alameda County.

Event Highlights

To celebrate the launch, Alameda County is holding the Alameda County Apps Challenge 2012 on Saturday, December 8th at the Castro Valley Library located at 3600 Norbridge Avenue in Castro Valley. The event begins with breakfast and sign in at 8:30 am and includes a keynote address, hacking time and team presentations. The Hackathon concludes at 6:00 pm once the winners are announced and prizes are awarded. Complete information and registration for the event are available online at: www.code.acgov.org/about.html.
