DOWNTOWN PLEASANTON HOLIDAY EVENTS

December Events

The holiday season is here and one great place to spend them is in Pleasanton's picturesque downtown. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Pleasanton Downtown Association and the City of Pleasanton, there are a number of events during the season which help provide that special holiday feeling for everyone.

November 18

The Pleasanton Downtown Association kicks off the season on Saturday, November 18 with the Spirit & Sweater Stroll. It is going to get ugly ... as in ugly sweaters! The Pleasanton Downtown Association (PDA) is excited to announce the Spirit & Sweater Stroll, which allows participants to sample beverages from various sources while enjoying the offerings of downtown retailers. Bust out your ugliest of sweaters and join the fun to kick off the holiday season in downtown Pleasanton. Event guests will enjoy spirits and handcraft cocktails at over 20 downtown locations throughout Main Street. The evening, which is sponsored by Visit Tri-Valley, begins at the Museum on Main, at 603 Main Street, where participants can redeem their tickets for glasses, wristbands, and programs. Tickets are available for $40 and are can be purchased at pleasantondowntown.net as well as at Beer Baron, 336 St. Mary Street, cash or check only. If the event has not sold out, a selection of tickets will be available for $50 at the Museum on Main just prior to the event.

November 25

The Saturday after Thanksgiving has been designated Small Business Saturday which celebrates the Shop Small movement to encourage people to patronize local businesses. Over 30 downtown businesses will be participating in this day-long event from 9:00 am - 10:00 pm with many offering specials on dining, goods, and services. Balloons, stickers, shopping bags, pet bandanas, pens, and more will be given to customers throughout the day as a thank you for supporting local businesses. Free photos with Santa will be offered at the Museum on Main, 603 Main Street, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. Everyone is invited to get involved by committing to shop in Downtown Pleasanton on Small Business Saturday on the Pleasanton Downtown Association's Facebook Page, and showing your support by taking selfies at your favorite downtown businesses.

December 2

The City of Pleasanton welcomes the entire community for their annual Hometown Holiday Celebration on Saturday, December 2, from 3:30 - 7:30 pm. This event features the Hometown Holiday Parade, an annual community favorite, at 5:00 pm which includes all the elements that make parades so much fun including floats, marching bands, community groups, and more. Following the parade's conclusion at approximately 6:45 pm, a tree lighting ceremony featuring live music, Pleasanton Mayor Jerry Thorne, and Santa Claus himself will take place at the Pleasanton arch on Main Street. Further information on the parade, including details on how to participate and other volunteer opportunities, is available at hometownholiday.com, by calling the Hometown Holiday Hotline at (925) 931-5352, or via e-mail at HometownHoliday@CityofPleasantonCA.gov.
