A Military Appreciation Day Donation Drive, sponsored by Operation: S.A.M. "Supporting All Military," will be held in Hacienda at Wal*Mart on Saturday August, 20 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Wal*Mart is located in the Metro 580 shopping center at 4501 Rosewood Drive.

Comfort Package Donations

Operation: S.A.M. invites the community to join in a "Comfort Package" donation drive for goodies, hygiene and other products they will pack and ship to our U.S. deployed military serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. On Saturday, August, 20, join the Military Appreciation Day Donation Drive by stopping by Wal*Mart, meeting the group and dropping a donation in the barrels from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Some of the most critical items needed are Crystal Lite, Visine, nasal spray, deodorant, razors, white cotton tube socks, washcloths, bug repellent, Tylenol, sun block, Tums, trail mix, granola bars, power drinks and bars, nuts, sunflower seeds, jerky, Slim Jim, Chapstick, medicated anti-fungal cream, muscle cream, foot powder, AA batteries, travel size games, puzzle books and disposable cameras. Items should be small or travel size.

About Operation: S.A.M.

Operation: S.A.M. is an all-volunteer, non-political, non-profit organization that is dedicated to showing our communities' appreciation by sending the active members of our military comfort packages to let them know we are thinking about them and they are not forgotten. To date, Operation: S.A.M. has shipped over 4,400 boxes to our troops.
