DOUBLE ROAD RACE COMING TO HACIENDA

A new sport comes to America on Sunday, December 23rd in Hacienda with the first-ever staging on American soil of a unique new running competition called the Double Road Race™ (or Double for short). The course will wind through Hacienda and benefits JustRun.org, a national youth running program that fights childhood obesity, as well as local youth running programs in Pleasanton.

Event Description

The Double is a distance race consisting of two legs - an opening 10K (6.2 miles) leg, followed by a 5K (3.1 miles) leg, with a short break in between. The Double is being held in Hacienda on Sunday, December 23rd. The 10k portion of the race begins at 7:45 am followed by a 5K at 9:30 am and a kids one mile race at 11:00 am. Winners are decided based on the best aggregate time and an awards ceremony is being held after the races at 11:30 am. The Double is the brainchild of running visionary and innovator Bob Anderson, founder and former publisher of Runner's World magazine, and an avid runner for 50 years. Street Traffic

The race begins and ends at Hart Middle School located at 4433 Willow Road in Hacienda. Traffic will be monitored by the race hosts, and access will be allowed to all buildings to insure minimal inconvenience.
