Hacienda is pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity for park properties to partake in a pilot program with City CarShare and Toyota of North America. City CarShare has obtained approval to launch a demonstration carsharing project in Hacienda using Scion iQ-EV electric vehicles provided by Toyota. Here is a great chance to bring a valuable amenity to your Hacienda site.

CarShare Program

City CarShare, a Bay Area nonprofit, is currently seeking sponsored parking sites within Hacienda to establish Pod (Points of Departure) locations for new electric vehicles. Under the program, City CarShare will provide electric vehicle charging stations at selected locations around Hacienda and operate a carshare service for Hacienda tenants, their employees, residents and other City CarShare members.

Site Selection Process

Each Pod typically consists of two spaces in the parking area near an electrical service. City CarShare is evaluating sites within Hacienda that are suitable for service. Upon identification of suitable POD sites, City CarShare will seek partner sponsors to donate space and invite them to participate in programs designed to ensure the long-term success of the project.

Additional Partnership Opportunities

In addition to providing Pod locations, Hacienda businesses are also invited to participate at higher sponsorship levels. Opportunities will be available for businesses to actively demonstrate their support for the environmental benefits that carsharing and electric vehicles provide. The sponsorship opportunities include benefits such as signage on cars, signage on charging stations, recognition in press releases, logos on web pages, and mention in social media and newsletters. Additional opportunities include membership for employees in City CarShare and additional EV charging stations for public and/or employee use.

Informational Meeting

We hope you will be able to attend a special informational meeting that will be used to provide details on the program and how Hacienda sites can participate. Aside from learning about the details of getting City CarShare established in Hacienda, you will also have an opportunity to see the vehicles and equipment that will be used. The meeting will take place at the Hacienda Owners Association's office on Tuesday, June 4 from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. Reservations for the meeting may be made by contacting the Association's office using the information below.
