2005 GO GREEN EARTH SUMMIT

Pleasanton is home to a new, exciting national initiative for schools: the Go Green Initiative. The Go Green Initiative will be holding its first annual Go Green Earth Summit on April 10-12. The summit will be held here in Pleasanton where the Go Green Initiative took root. Educators, families and conservation experts will gather from across the nation to learn how to implement the Go Green Initiative in their school communities.

About the Go Green Initiative

The Go Green Initiative was started here in Pleasanton and is now the nation's fastest growing fully comprehensive environmental action plan for schools. By promoting environmental stewardship on campuses from elementary schools through universities, the Initiative works to involve families, businesses and local governments in the common goal of protecting human health through environmental stewardship. The purpose of the Go Green Initiative is to make it simple and effective for schools to make a difference.

Go Green Earth Summit

The Go Green Initiative Association is hosting a special three day Earth Summit on April 10 -12, 2005 at the Pleasanton Hilton and Federal Environmental Executive, Ed Pinero will serve as the keynote speaker. Highlights of the event will include tours of Go Green schools and information packed seminars to learn how you can be a part of helping your business or civic group Go Green. Sessions will focus on the nuts and bolts of developing a Go Green Plan, building a team to enact the plan, and fostering partnerships between schools, municipalities, waste haulers and potential local sponsors.
