The Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB) invites you to their 13th Annual Empty Bowls Fundraising Event. This special function is just one of many vital events that ACCFB orchestrates to support Alameda County residents in time of need. For over 30 years, ACCFB has stood by their unwavering belief that food is a basic human right. ACCFB distributes millions of healthy meals every year, and is on the forefront of new approaches to ending hunger and poverty.

Alameda County Community Food Bank

ACCFB has been operating since 1985, and provides food for 240 non profit agencies in Alameda County. Through the generous support of the local community, ACCFB is able to provide 540,000 meals weekly to those who need it most. The main goal of the Alameda County Community Food Bank is "to ensure every food insecure child, adult and senior in Alameda County knows where their next meal is coming from". Since moving into a permanent facility near the Oakland Airport in 2005, the Food Bank has ramped up distribution of fresh fruits and vegetables by more than 1,000%.

Event Details

The 13th Annual Empty Bowls Event will be an evening of art, nourishment, and advocacy taking place on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The event will take place at the Alameda County Community Food Bank facility located at 7900 Edgewater Drive in Oakland, California.

Empty Bowl Highlights

Enjoy a delicious soup dinner, take home a hand-painted bowl, participate in the family art and advocacy project, and bid in the silent auction that features beautiful ceramics and fun-filled, family-friendly adventures.
