The holiday season is here and one great place to spend them is in Pleasanton’s picturesque downtown. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Pleasanton Downtown Association and the City of Pleasanton, there are a number of events, many of them virtual,  during the season which help provide that special holiday feeling for everyone.

Small Business Saturday

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 28, 2020 has been designated Small Business Saturday which celebrates the Shop Small movement to encourage people to patronize local businesses. A number of downtown businesses will be participating in this day-long event from 9:00 am - 10:00 pm with many offering specials on dining, goods, and services. Celebrate All Week Long

This year, give yourself a great start to the month of December. Five fun activities on the first five days of the month will help set the stage for a great year-end!

December 1st: Holiday Cookie Recipe - Share your favorite holiday recipe! Post the recipe with a picture or a few words on why it is your favorite. To post, Tag@pleasantonca on Facebook.

December 2nd: Holiday Sweater Contest - Ugly, cute, festive, fun! Post a picture of you in your best holiday sweater or attire. The winner of this contest will be chosen by the Pleasanton Library & Recreation Staff and featured on Tag@pleasantonca on Facebook.

December 3rd: Favorite Holiday Movie - Have a favorite holiday movie? Share your favorites for others to enjoy. Movies with family are a fun social distance activity. To post, Tag@pleasantonca on Facebook.

December 4th: Celebrate with Lights - Make some hot cocoa and follow the list of addresses to view the best holiday lights in Pleasanton. The Holiday Lights List will provide residents with a listing of residential home holiday light displays to view from their car, offering a great social distanced and safe holiday activity. Home light displays should be complete and ready for viewing by December 4, 2020 and stay lit through December 27th. The online list will be available beginning Friday, December 4th.

Register your home to be placed on the Pleasanton Lights Map by Friday, November 27th. To Register Please complete this form or email your name and address to: pytsupervisor@cityofpleasantonca.gov.

December 5th: Virtual Tree Lighting Celebration - The City of Pleasanton and Tri-Valley Community Television, TV30 will premiere the Virtual Hometown Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 5 at 7:00pm on Tri-Valley Community Television for the community to view safely from home.The pre-recorded live broadcast will feature holiday cheer and entertainment from the award-winning a cappella group, Business Casual and the annual tree lighting countdown with the City Council and special guest Santa Claus.
