Community members are invited to attend the upcoming East Bay EDA 2020 Speaker Series feature on jobs in the East Bay. The East Bay is the premiere region for business opportunity, innovation and quality of life. The East Bay Economic Development Alliance is the regional voice and networking resource for strengthening the economy, building the workforce and enhancing the quality of life in the East Bay.

Please join East Bay EDA on Tuesday, October 27th from 10:00 - 11:00 am for "Beyond the Gig Economy," a 2020 Speaker Series webinar exploring the future of work and alternative marketplaces, and models for irregular work. Wingham Rowan, founder of Beyond Jobs, whose company’s technology was used in a redesign of the British government safety net will share learning from the British programs, talk about the launch of the CalFLEXI pilot, and share thoughts about the potential for its expansion and replication in other markets such as the East Bay. His company’s technology is now behind a pilot project in Los Angeles County called CalFLEXI, a sophisticated platform for all types of hourly labor built around protections, control, stability and progression for work-seekers plus quality and alignment for businesses that use flexible labor.
