Hope Hospice invites you and your family and friends to join them for their Hike for Hope, and family picnic. The Hike for Hope is a non-competitive event benefiting Hope Hospice; a non-profit organization serving the Tri-Valley since 1980. Proceeds from this event will support the medical, emotional and spiritual needs of Hope for Hospice patients and families. Hope Hospice provides specialized hospice care for patients facing a life-threatening illness and grief support to families and loved ones.

Participation Choices

Join Hope Hospice for this year's Hike for Hope at Lake Del Valle on May 14th at the Fiesta Grande Picnic Area. The event has a rolling start between 8:30 and 9:30 am. Participants can hike at their own pace, choosing between an easy out-and-back route along the lake of about 2.6 miles; and a 4.4-mile option that tacks on a moderate incline loop with a payoff view from the top. Both routes may be easily shortened or lengthened if desired.

Special Remembrance

Since the hike is an opportunity to remember a loved one, each hiker is encouraged to bring a photo or memento of the person for whom the hike is dedicated. There will be opportunities throughout the hike for reflection and moments of silence.

Event Details

The fee to participate is $35 for adults, $15 for youth ages 13 to 17, and free for those 12 and under. A special family registration is also available for $80. Hikers can hike as an individual or as part of a team, and everyone is encouraged to invite others to help sponsor this event with pledges. A complimentary barbecue lunch, sponsored by MCE Corp., awaits participants upon their return to the staging grounds at the Fiesta Grande Picnic Area.
