
The Cheza Nami Foundation welcomes you to try A Taste of Africa. Cheza Nami's mission is to promote cultural education and diversity awareness to learning institutions, corporations and communities that focus on fostering a more congenial relationship among its members. Cheza Nami envisions a culturally diverse world where individuals of all ages and nationalities can embrace the concept of global citizenship and understand the fundamental interconnectedness of all things.
Cheza Nami Foundation presents A Taste of Africa in the Heart of Livermore, a free family-friendly event that promotes and celebrates African and African diaspora cultures. A Taste of Africa will be held at the Bankhead Theater Lawn, 2400 First Street, Livermore, on October 1, 2022. from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.
This event is made possible in part by a grant from the City of Livermore, Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance and is brought to you in partnership with Livermore Valley Arts. Attendees can enjoy shopping for one-of-a-kind products as well as enjoy delicious food from across the continent of Africa from local African chefs. From an African Gojo Hut exhibit, a community drum circle, to a reading library, the event features various forms of art, outdoor musical and dance performances, a Kids Zone equipped with hands-on learning experiences, musical instrument exploration, arts and crafts, face painting and so much more.
