The Dublin Chamber is inviting you to attend their new Annual Thought Leadership Speaker Series; an inspiring and thought-provoking series of special presentations. The Dublin Chamber is proud to present Dr. Harry Edwards, American Sociologist and Civil Rights Leader, as the first speaker of this new series. The Dublin Chamber of Commerce convenes leaders and influencers to foster innovation, champions a strong and vibrant business community, and is a catalyst for economic growth.

Views of America's Future

Dr. Harry Edwards will present "The Future of America: Teaching and the Caging of the American Mind" at the Regal Hacienda Crossings, 5000 Dublin Boulevard, Dublin at 6:00 pm on October 19, 2023.  The combination of Dr. Edwards' experiences as an African-American, as an athlete, and his training in sociology led Edwards to propose America had become very complacent about the issue of race in sports. He has a long and storied history of activism focused upon developments in racial equity in America and around the world. In June, 2023, the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) inducted Dr. Edwards into the NAACP California Hawaii State Conference Legacy Hall of Fame. Dr. Edwards continues to speak on issues of sport, race, society, and the future of America.
