Pleasanton Connects is a community-building initiative and a partnership of the Workday Foundation, the City of Pleasanton, and TogetherUp Institute. Together, these organizations have been working with cross-sectoral leaders to build relationships, gain skills in communicating across differences, and collaborate on a community listening tour. The listening tour has involved interviews of leaders in Pleasanton, official and informal leaders representing different faiths, identity groups, nonprofits, business, health, philanthropy, and other sectors. The hope for Pleasanton through this project is to build strong communities and deepen connections.
Findings from interviews will be shared at a community kick-off meeting on November 17th, 2025, from 6:30 - 8:00 pm at the Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Boulevard, Pleasanton. The collective of interviews is intended to help better understand how residents in Pleasanton experience connection, belonging, and shared purpose—and to examine challenges and opportunities. Strong communities, where there are positive connections within and between groups, leads to better health, creativity and innovation, a stronger sense of belonging and satisfaction, higher community-wide education and economic performance, and general resilience. Attendees will have an opportunity to hear from speaker Nichole Argo, PhD, TogetherUp Institute about "The Power of Connected Communities." This gathering will be a wonderful chance for leaders in the Listening Tour as well as the general Pleasanton community to:
