Journey with Shakespeare & Performing Arts Regional Company (SPARC) as they travel from vineyard to village presenting The Merry Wives of Windsor! This annual summer event has been a staple in the Tri-Valley for more than 20 years. Experience the magic of live theater under the open sky and then follow the story as it moves to an intimate indoor stage. SPARC has built community in the region through the production of high quality theatrical experiences in vineyards, public establishments, performing arts venues, schools, colleges and universities. In 2020, SPARC was named Best in the East Bay’s “Best Live Theater” for a third consecutive year by the readers of the East Bay Times.

Shakespeare in the Vineyard and the Village

Shakespeare was known for slipping contemporary references into his plays, things local Londoners might be gossiping about. SPARC is taking their cue and setting this summer’s production, Sir John Falstaff and the Merry Wives of Windsor, at the time of the founding of Livermore, in the late 1800s. Join SPARC for Shakespeare in the Vineyard between July 3 - July 27 for some outdoor theater fun at the Darcie Kent Vineyards, 7000 Tesla Road, Livermore. In August, the production moves indoors to The Village Theatre and Art Gallery, 7233 Front Street, Danville, All vineyard shows are at 7:30 pm. Village shows are at 7:30 pm on Friday and Saturday and at 2:00 pm on Sundays. Be sure to take this special opportunity to picnic with family and friends in a beautiful outdoor setting at the vineyard or enjoy a traditional indoor theater experience at the village.
