Hacienda construction continued at a brisk pace in 1999. Over 250,000 square feet of additional space was completed as well as nearly 10 acres of public parks.

Those figures are small compared to the facilities that are currently under construction in the park, however. Nearly 1.4 million square feet of additional space, including the 540-unit Archstone Hacienda Apartments, are currently under construction and due to be completed in 2000.

Leasing activity has remained strong as well. Nearly 500,000 square feet was absorbed in Hacienda in 1999, leaving overall vacancy rates under 4 percent.

* ADG Development's property on Chabot Drive opened last fall.
* The Lincoln Centre project, which will feature two buildings totaling 239,112 square feet, begins to take form at Owens Drive and Chabot Drive.
* Owens Plaza Park, available for use by Hacienda tenants and the general public, features this lovely gazebo.
* Creekside Park, accessible via a parking lot on West Las Positas Boulevard as well as a walking trail to adjacent Owens Plaza Park, features active use facilities including a baseball diamond and basketball and volleyball courts.
