Find Out What's Happening (and get Ticket Discounts) with MyBART

Now you can get on track with BART for transit and MyBART for Bay Area entertainment tickets. Not only can BART take you where you want to go in comfort aboard its swift and comfortable trains, it can also save you money on entertainment.

MyBART, an eight-month old program, is the Bay Area entertainment service from the BART transit agency. As a MyBART member, you'll receive exclusive offers to buy tickets with substantial discounts of up to 25 percent, or two-for-one tickets for Bay Area popular or classical music concerts, performing or visual arts events, sporting events including Cal sports, and family events. In addition, you can receive shopping discounts and information on contests.

"The program brings businesses, the community and the ridership together in a three-way win," said Doug Bartlett, marketing and promotions manager for BART. "The rider gets an excellent ticket discount for something they want to go to; partners, including businesses, sell their tickets to put people in the seats; and BART will encourage MyBART members to ride BART to the event."

MyBART is the only program of its kind operated by a transit agency, said Bartlett. Over 5,000 members have signed up in the eight months since the program's inception and Bartlett would like to double that number this year.

MyBART members sign up on BART's website at www.bart.gov for the entertainment categories that interest them. Then, once a week, every Thursday afternoon, they receive information for the following week by e-mail. Registrants simply select the events they want to attend and buy discount tickets online. BART transit tickets are sold separately at the stations. The day of the event, myBART users can hop on BART and enjoy the hassle-free trip to the play, concert or ball game.

"Unless the vendors indicate otherwise, which is rare, members can buy as many tickets as they want. The system is safe and secure, and collected information is kept confidential. It's very easy to change or add to entertainment categories at any time."

"We've had some tickets for some terrific entertainment and promotions including Ray Charles, Wynton Marsalis, Yo-Yo Ma, Zeum Children's High Tech museum, Oakland A's, preseason 49er's tickets, the Embarcadero shops, Berkeley Repertory Theater, ACT, Theater on the Square, Marine's Memorial, all of the Cal sports, the San Francisco Museum of Modern art, and Cal Performances. We're also working on a package that would include restaurants, hotels, and shows."
