ACE Introduces New Rider Program for Hacienda, Web Site E-Ticketing

There's big news for Central Valley commuters. The Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) rail line is extending a new offer to Hacienda employees and residents as well as introducing online e-ticketing via their web site at .

Hacienda's New Rider Program is now featuring a new ACE special offer affording commuters a great way to try out ACE without spending a dime. New riders are entitled to receive a free pass good for five consecutive days on ACE, a $55 value. Passes are good for travel between Stockton or Manteca/Lathrop to Pleasanton. If a new rider then decides to purchase a monthly pass, ACE is offering an additional incentive by reducing the cost of their first pass by 50 percent. In all, a new rider who becomes a regular rider can get their first five weeks of travel for the price of two.

In addition, current ACE riders can take advantage of this offer as well. Current riders can simply refer a friend to Hacienda's New Rider Program for ACE and if that person buys a monthly pass, the referrer gets a 50 percent discount on their next monthly pass as well.

Hacienda also offers incentives for BART, SJRTD/SMART, Tri-Delta Transit, and AC Transit. To order any of these New Rider Program incentives, access the Hacienda web site at, choose "Services" from the main menu, and then choose "Commute Solutions" and "New Rider Program" from the drop-down menus. Alternatively, requests can be phoned to (925) 734-6551. All materials must be sent to a valid address within Hacienda.

ACE's commitment to Hacienda commuters goes well beyond their participation in Hacienda's New Rider Program and is also shown by their willingness to visit park tenants to make presentations on ACE services.

"We understand that a lot of employees don't have time to look into ACE, so we're happy to come on site," says Mike Steenburgh, ACE Ticketing Programs coordinator. "Many people have heard of ACE but have never taken that next step to find out more about us or to pursue buying a ticket, so this is a nice way to provide that."

Steenburgh adds that companies of all sizes are welcome to a visit from ACE. "There's no number that's too small - we're happy to work with small and large companies to provide that service."

Information on ACE routes and schedules is available on their web site at That's also where riders will find ACE's new e-ticketing program, the first in the nation to be offered by a commuter rail company. Riders simply access the ACE web site, choose "Fare Calculator," and then make the appropriate choices for the trip they desire. Tickets may be delivered via mail, overnight courier, or can be printed right off the site for "instant" use.
