A Moveable Feast

At the most recent October 6th “opening in the park”, an event the co-developers, The Prudential Insurance Company of America and Callahan Pentz billed as a “Moveable Feast”, guests boarded chartered buses, were handed finger sandwiches and champagne, and took off on a 25-minute guided tour of the completed in-tract improvement in Hacienda Business Park.

With Joe Callahan of Callahan Pentz and Jack Swanson and Roger Gage of Prudential serving as guides, the three packed buses pulled away from completed Chabot Center and circled the area to observe first-hand the status of the planned progress of the park.

In addition to the building, the “tour guides” also pointed out the extensive in-tract amenities such as the custom designed crosswalks of colored stones, the distinctive bus stops and traffic signals, the state-of-the-art lighting fixtures, and the lushly landscaped streets and medians.

After the tour, the buses returned to Stoneridge Drive, where just past the steel central plaza, the assembled gathered under a bright yellow-striped canopy to enjoy more champagne, and fresh fruit and shrimp, and celebrated the official groundbreaking of Hacienda’s fourth major announced tenant, Viacom Cable.

For those who “missed the bus,” there are some snapshots of what the local dignitaries, city and county officials and Pleasantonites who attended had the opportunity to see.
