NORTHERN CALIFORNIA "SHAKE 2010"

The Hacienda Owners Association is pleased to announce that Emergency Management Services will conduct free "SHAKE" 2010 Earthquake Exercises throughout Hacienda facilities during the week of April 26th. The goal of the "SHAKE" 2010 Earthquake Exercise is to educate and train company employees and building management staff on how to appropriately respond to a large scale earthquake.

"SHAKE 2010" Exercise Details

Emergency Management Services (EMS) is offering free earthquake exercises to Hacienda tenants through their property management companies. These exercises are designed to educate and train building occupants and management staff on how to respond to an earthquake. All property and facility managers are invited to participate in this program. The initial "Duck & Cover" portion of the exercise involving building occupants takes only three minutes and consists of three phases: duck and cover, moving to a safe place and returning to work. Building management staff and floor wardens will then review and resolve disaster scenarios and reply to property management. EMS will assist participants in the necessary planning, education and training of tenants and building management staff with the goal of enabling your facility to become fully self-sufficient in the aftermath of a disaster and to resume operations with minimal interruption. Pleasanton Police Department staff will also be available as an additional resource.

Participation

If your company is interested in participating in the "SHAKE" 2010 drills, please contact Howard Hicks at howardhhicks@aol.com or Jeff Lapin at jeff@cpconsulting.org. The program is free for facilities with an existing Floor Warden program in place. If you are interested in participating in this program and your company or facility does not have a Floor Warden program in place, you can elect to participate in the "Duck & Cover" portion of the earthquake exercise and contact EMS using the information below to develop a facility Emergency Response Program at a special Hacienda discounted rate.
