URBAN WATER MASTER PLAN

The City of Pleasanton is currently revising its 2010 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) in accordance with the California Urban Water Management Planning ACT and the Water Conservation Bill of 2009. Pleasanton's UWMP is a guide used to ensure that adequate water supplies are available to meet existing and future water demand.

2010 Urban Water Master Plan Update

The 2010 UWMP will report, describe and evaluate the City's water deliveries and uses, water supply sources, demand management measures through efficient water use programs, and the plan to achieve a reduction of potable water use of 20% by 2020. The public is encourage to participate in the development of this document and can learn more about the process by visiting www.water.ca.gov/urbanwatermanagement/. The City's 2002 UWMP can also be viewed at www.pleasantonwaterconservation.com, along with a draft of the 2010 UWMP.

Business Assistance Sought

The City of Pleasanton is seeking the assistance of the business community in the update to this plan. Some of the objectives of the UWMP will likely result in water management programs to improve the efficient use of potable and irrigation water used by business. Input from businesses and building owners will help make sure that implemented measures will allow Pleasanton to meet its water use goals while addressing business needs.
