The Livermore Wine Trolley is offering an opportunity to honor and thank Tri-Valley community essential workers and Covid-19 heroes with a Livermore Wine Trolley Tour. For a discounted sponsor fee of $100, a resident or business can select a personal hero or heroes to honor and give them a well-deserved day of relaxation on the Trolley. The Wine Tour for Heroes includes tasting a full flight at three wineries, a delicious lunch, and traveling through the wine country on the Trolley with a professional and fun tour guide who will play favorite tunes upon request.
The community is proud of the many doctors, nurses, first responders, grocery store employees, and essential workers who have risked their own health in order to take care of us and keep us safe, according to Brian Luke, the Founder and Owner of Livermore Wine Trolley, which opened for business in May 2014. The company's new Cheers to Heroes program gives residents an opportunity to do something special for these workers.
To participate, a sponsor provides the name, contact information, and a personal thank you note to an individual or set of individuals. "If you don't have a specific person to honor, but would like to sponsor a hero, we will happily choose one for you," says Luke. The sponsored "heroes" will receive a gift certificate for a future wine tour with the thank you note.
"We have been closed since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic and our business has taken a huge hit, as have so many other businesses," notes Luke. "This new program will provide a win-win for our business, the twenty-plus wineries with which we partner, and the local food providers where we order lunches for our tours. We believe our Bay Area community will be very receptive to having the opportunity to say thank you to someone who has continued to work at the risk of their own health and at the same time help the businesses that are struggling. We also believe that these heroes will appreciate a day to relax, unwind, and taste some of the best wine in the world right here in our own backyard."
The Livermore Wine Trolley holds special events throughout the year in addition to its Cheers for Heroes! program and regular wine tours. They include a Valentine's event in February, an October "HALLO-WINE" event, and a December Lights of Livermore holiday tasting and tour, which has sold out for the past five years.
