Movement Lab Chiropractic Welcomes New Patients

Earlier this year, Dr. Kimi Ma and Dr. Sulllivan Truong opened Movement Lab Chiropractic at 4847 Hopyard Road after several years of working in other chiropractic offices. The practice treats all age ranges and works on extremities in addition to making spine adjustments. The treatment protocols offered include chiropractic adjustments using both manual and gentle instrument-based techniques. Soft tissue, Kinesio taping, corrective exercise, ergonomic training, and lifestyle modification therapies are also available.

“We provide a safe space for people to regain their health through movement and holistic well-being,” says Dr. Kimi, as she prefers to be called. “We aim to make it an enjoyable process where they feel supported the whole way through. We make movement accessible to everyone.”

The business offers complimentary consultations to potential patients, and currently has a new patient special. The owners say they are open to any and all questions and are happy to meet their Hacienda business and community neighbors. A first visit to Movement Lab Chiropractic includes an initial exam consisting of a consultation, a physical exam, and X-rays, if needed, using a new, state-of-the-art device. The first appointment is followed by a second appointment called the "Report of Findings" to discuss what was found during the physical exam and any findings from the X-rays as they pertain to patient symptoms.

“We address the potential cause of their concern, what we can do about it, and what kind of care they would benefit from,” notes Dr. Kimi. “While we have a holistic approach to patient care, chiropractic adjustments are the hallmark of our practice. Our aim is to address spine alignment to positively influence the nervous system function of the body. This helps restore ease of movement and performance so we can get our patients back to doing the activities they love.”

Adds Dr. Sulllivan, who also prefers to go by his first name, “We love when patients share their experiences at our office. Many of them have experienced years of pain and limited mobility. Giving them a platform to share their story to others has been encouraging to others that might be in the same boat as them. This creates an empowering environment for others to heal, and opens up opportunities for conversation.”

Dr. Kimi is a graduate of Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward and has a background in exercise science. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California Polytechnic State University Pomona. Dr. Sullivan is a Bay Area native from San Jose. After graduating from the University of California Riverside with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, he earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic College West. Together they opened Movement Lab Chiropractic in May of this year.

“We love the Pleasanton area and wanted to serve this community and its surrounding area,” notes Dr. Kimi, who grew up nearby and says she has always had a passion for being involved with the Tri-Valley region. Dr. Sullivan recently moved to Pleasanton and says he is excited to have a positive impact on the community as well.
