BART Offers New Incentives for Hacienda Commuters

BART has announced two programs which will allow new employees at Hacienda businesses to get acquainted with the transit system.

The first of these is an incentive program for employers which provides free tickets to new employees. The second is an encore presentation of "BART 101," a workshop designed to introduce new riders to BART.

Participation in the incentive program is easy. The Hacienda Owners Association will be providing a supply of program materials to each park business within the next few weeks. New hires interested in trying BART as a transportation alternative need only contact their employee transportation coordinator for a "New Employee BART Invitation". The Invitation will contain all of the information on how to receive a free BART pass. Information on the various employee transportation contacts within each business is available at the Association's office.

BART will also be sponsoring its one-hour orientation workshop, BART 101, in the coming months at the East Dublin/Pleasanton station.

BART 101 offers information on ticketing, transfers, routes, and more, with an eye towards explaining BART use from the point of view of the first-time rider.

A number of classes are currently anticipated at a variety of times. Information on how to sign up for the classes will be distributed soon. Look for announcements in upcoming editions of Network.
