Classical Philharmonic Extends Special Offer to Hacienda Employees, Residents

Hacienda employees can enjoy performances by the Classical Philharmonic and save money thanks to a special, two-for-one ticket offer from the group, now in its 12th season. The Classical Philharmonic, a chamber symphony orchestra, performs throughout the Bay Area under the baton of music director and conductor Lawrence Kohl.

The season began in November with the Baroque music of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Coffee Cantata" and Handel's "Water Music." In February the concert theme is "L'Esprit Francais" and will include Dukas' "Liapprenti Sorcier," Satie's "Sports and Amusements," and Gounod's "Symphony Number 1 in D Major." Denis Pascal will play Saint-Saens' "Piano Concerto Number 2 in G Minor."

The February concerts are on February 9 at 8:00 p.m. Valley Community Church, 4455 Del Valle Parkway, Pleasanton and will be performed on subsequent days at the Herbst Theater in San Francisco and at the Valley Center for the Performing Arts at Holy Names College in Oakland.

In March, the Starry Night theme will bring Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik," Musgrave's "Night Music," Glinka's "Night in Madrid," Dallapiccola's "Piccola Music Notturna," and Mussorgskyk's "Night on Bald Mountain." The concerts are at 8 p.m., March 2 in Pleasanton and March 3 in San Francisco, and at 3 p.m. in Oakland on March 4.
