  • Free Program Offers Fuse Analysis & Upgrade Recommendations

Eaton, a power management company, has a new Bussmann Low-Peak Upgrade program that combines the industry's most advanced fuse circuit protection solutions from Eaton with its technical expertise to simplify inventory and reduce costs.

"The Low-Peak Upgrade program is so effective because it leverages our Low-Peak fuse portfolio," Nick Offerman, product manage of Eaton's Bussmann division, said. "These fuses offer 50 percent more protection than any other listed fuse and have many other features that contribute to enhanced safety and reliability, as well as simplified inventory."

The program is a free service focused on generating customized inventory consolidation recommendations. Eaton's experts conduct a full audit of the customer's fuse inventory, then used that information to create an inventory and consolidation summary report. The report includes SKU reduction recommendations and estimated savings, a recommended inventory list and a quote to buy new Low-Peak fuses.

  • Cisco Expands Open Standards Approach

Cisco is extending its leadership in promoting open standards, interoperability and multi-vendor solutions for software defined networking (SDN) technology.

Cisco's expanded open standards approach to SDN will complement its open application centric infrastructure (ACI) approach and extend standards-based interoperability for its Nexus 9000 Series switches with support of the standard protocol for overlay networks.

Nexus 9000 support for the BGP EVPN (border gateway protocol - ethernet virtual private network) protocol offers customers a choice of deployment options to achieve operational flexibility and paves the way for integration with third-party overlay controllers.

Overlay networks provide the foundation for scalable multi-tenant cloud networks.
