KabaFusion Partners with Tennr to Enhance Home Infusion Care

KabaFusion is a national provider of essential chronic and acute infusion therapies. The company serves patients in 45 states through a nationwide network of home infusion pharmacies, alternative infusion sites, and home health agencies. KabaFusion was founded in 2010 by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Sohail Masood, a pioneer in patient focused infusion therapies with more than 30 years of clinical experience. The company is dedicated to working proactively with patients, healthcare practitioners, and payors to provide comprehensive support before, during, and after treatment.

In September, KabaFusion announced it was joining Tennr, a healthcare technology company that automates patient processing for referral-based care, in a strategic partnership to further streamline care coordination, drive operational efficiencies, and improve patient outcomes through the use of artificial intelligence. Tennr is a healthcare technology company dedicated to eliminating patient delays throughout the U.S. healthcare system. The company’s referral automation platform accelerates patient throughput, helping healthcare providers capture more referrals and reduce denials without growing their teams.

The new collaboration will use Tennr’s advanced automation and data-driven insights to strengthen KabaFusion’s referral management processes, eliminating delays in patient onboarding and enhancing the patient experience. This approach will enable KabaFusion’s clinicians to devote more time to direct patient care and less time to navigating administrative bottlenecks that delay treatment, ensuring that patients receive timely, consistent, high-quality care across KabaFusion’s rapidly growing national network of home infusion pharmacies, alternative infusion sites, and home health agencies.

"At KabaFusion, clinical excellence and human compassion have always been at the heart of our operations," according to Tina Benkendorfer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for KabaFusion, which became a Hacienda tenant in 2021. "By integrating Tennr's advanced technology, we are reducing the administrative burden on our clinical teams and enhancing our ability to deliver timely, high-quality care so that our clinicians can focus on what matters most—the health and wellbeing of our patients."

"Our North star has always been to reduce patient care delays across the US," notes Trey Holterman, CEO at Tennr. "It's always refreshing when a partner as well-known as KabaFusion is aligned on the goal of delivering the fastest patient care possible and preventing patients from slipping through the cracks."

The partnership with Tennr underscores KabaFusion’s position as an industry leader that not only adapts to change but drives it, embracing innovations in healthcare technology solutions without compromising the compassionate care that has defined its legacy, officials say. Earlier in the year, KabaFusion announced that Nautic Partners had signed a definitive agreement to make a significant investment in KabaFusion. Nautic Partners is a middle-market private equity firm based in Providence, Rhode Island, that focuses on investments in healthcare, industrials, and services.

“We are incredibly proud of what KabaFusion has accomplished—delivering innovative, patient-focused infusion therapies and setting the standard for clinical excellence nationwide,” said Dr. Masood at the time of the announcement. “We have known the Nautic team for a long time and they are a natural partner for our business and the management team. As we enter this exciting new chapter, we look forward to leveraging Nautic’s expertise to accelerate our growth. We are confident this partnership will further strengthen our ability to deliver exceptional outcomes and lasting value for the patients and providers we serve.”
