With the recent opening of Learn and Play Montessori School Pleasanton, there are now 17 Learn and Play Montessori locations in the Bay Area. This new facility serves infants to school-age children with nurturing early learning programs and child care designed to give every child the best start in life. Learn and Play offers full-day, licensed care for infants, toddlers, preschool-age children, and children who can benefit from a kindergarten readiness program.
“Our mission is to nurture each child’s unique potential by giving them the individual attention they need to learn, discover, and thrive,” says Natasha Aguilar, Director of Operations for Learn and Play Montessori Schools. “Through an enriching, Montessori-based curriculum, we instill values of honesty, integrity, responsibility, and empathy while helping children grow into confident, well-rounded individuals.”
The preschool program combines the Montessori Method and science, technology, engineering, and math subjects in age-appropriate ways, according to officials, who say the school nurtures both fundamental skills useful for lifelong success in education and career as well as a love of learning. Classrooms are prepared by Montessori-certified and trained teachers. Each Learn and Play school is organized to allow children to move freely in an environment that is engaging and responsive, at each stage of development. Following the Montessori philosophy, infant to kindergarten-level students are taught through hands-on lessons versus the traditional school approach.
“What makes us special is the way we truly see and value every child,” Aguilar notes. “Families choose us as a partner because we provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace. Our teachers and staff go above and beyond to ensure that each child is supported and celebrated. At Learn and Play, we are more than a school. We are a community that partners with families to build strong foundations for lifelong learning inside and outside of the classroom.”
Early education is more than childcare, according to officials. “Institutions such as Learn and Play lay the foundation for upcoming generations. We combine high-quality academics with a nurturing environment, empathy, and community. We view ourselves as partners with families and communities, with the goal of supporting curious, compassionate, and capable future leaders.”
“We have many exciting events planned for the coming months that we would love to share with the community,” adds Aguilar. “From family friendly events held on campus to opportunities outside of our walls, there will be many opportunities where we will be able to connect with our Pleasanton community.
