Hacienda Offers a Variety of Childcare and Educational

Opportunities for Children

Hacienda is well known as a hub of commerce but it is also a prime location for children. The park features a number of childcare providers and preschools in addition to tutoring centers, a music school, and a fully-accredited private school that offers pre-kindergarten through fifth grade curricula

Genius Kids was founded on the philosophy “Never 2 Little 2 Learn,” based on the simple belief that every child is a genius and as educators and parents, it is their responsibility to awaken the inner genius in each child. Their curriculum was developed in-house and is based on “interactive learning recipes” incorporating the essential “ingredients of success” which are critical thinking, public speaking, language development, creativity, imagination and confidence building. Specialized programs are offered for ages three to 24 months; two to five years; four to six years; and kindergarten through fifth grade, as well as spring and summer camps.

Global Village Montessori provides a Montessori education for children aged two to six. In addition to subjects including reading, writing, math, science, culture, touch and feel, and practical life, its staff emphasizes a child's physical, emotional and creative development. The goal is to celebrate diversity and provide a unique experience for children and parents. Their facility has been carefully designed with the goals of providing an inviting, safe and stimulating space for children and includes a well-equipped outdoor play area.

HeadsUp! Child Development Centers offer parents the security of knowing that their children are receiving the finest care and development guidance available. They combine an innovative approach to early learning with traditional values and the joy of discovery. The HeadsUp! program encourages children to become conscious of and take pride in their emerging competence. By becoming aware of the skills he or she has, a young child is better able to use them. The Hacienda center has a capacity of 256 children and includes an infant-toddler room (up to two years of age); a twos room (two to three years old); five preschool rooms (ages three through six), including a bilingual Chinese-English classroom; and a kindergarten program. There are separate outdoor play yards for every age group. The nationally-recognized design features large windows and spacious indoor play spaces. A partially-covered outdoor play area and radiant heating provide for the children's comfort, even in extreme weather.

Pleasanton Preschool is a bilingual Montessori school which instructs children aged two through kindergarten in both English and Mandarin Chinese. Their program is designed to help native as well as non-native English speakers become literate in both English and Chinese. Children learn Mandarin Chinese through the use of songs, poems, stories, and fables. Chinese is also taught in all academic subject areas, including math and science.

Summit Tutoring Center, located just steps from Hart Middle School, offers individualized English and math tutoring for students in grades six through 12, with an eye towards both increased class performance and higher SAT scores. One-on-one tutoring is available in these subjects as well as chemistry and biology. A Homework Club is also offered after 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year, with high school seniors serving as teaching assistants. Summit also offers instruction in art and Chinese.

TLC is designed to help students achieve their own independent academic skills and aptitudes for preparation into adult living. Career and job readiness skills are taught along with academic skills so students can learn to become active contributing members within their community and society.
